Shawn and his wife Juanita have one child: Liam 6 and are currently in the process of adopting 2 children from Rwanda.  Shawn graduated from Briercrest Bible School with a BA in Christian Studies and is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity from Carey Theological College. Shawn began his ministry as a Lay Youth Pastor for Maitland Street Baptist Church in London, ON where he served for 4 years.  He then served as Preacher and Men’s Ministry Leader for one year at New Horizons Baptist Church in London. In 2004 he accepted a call to serve as Associate Pastor with an emphasis on youth and children’s ministries for Wyoming Baptist Church, in Wyoming, ON.
Shawn has a heart for teaching people about God, motivating and leading them to seek and know Him more deeply.  He has a passion for preaching God’s Word and serving Him.

Janna Baigent has made First Baptist her home church for the last seventeen years. Since making First Baptist her home church, Janna has worked closely with the worship ministries within the church. She has just recently joined the ministry team as Music Director in 2010. The main focus of her music career has been spent teaching private piano lessons as well as conducting various choirs in the Ingersoll and Thamesford communities. Janna has Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Western Ontario as well One Year Diploma from Heritage Bible College in Cambridge Ontario. She lives on a Dairy farm with her wonderful husband, Owen and two teenage children, Alex and Christine.

Corey Brown, Youth Pastor

We are pleased to announce that Corey Brown is called to be our new Youth Pastor here at First Baptist Church. Corey has a B.A. from Heritage and is part way through a Masters degree. He has a passion for discipleship and leading others in worship. Corey will be starting ministry with us in March and we look forward to how God will work through this next phase of ministry at First Baptist!
